Two weeks ago, I had the pleasure of interviewing soulful songstress, Jhene Aiko (who recently signed to Def Jam after the hugely successful release of her mixtape, Sailing Souls), and Casey Veggies – the former Odd Future member who just released his newest mixtape, Customized Greatly Vol. 3. It was a beautiful – and very cold – Los Angeles night and I had been assigned to cover the USC GearFest 2012 Fashion Show for TheWellVersed.com so I wanted to dress up as my usual, draped-in-vintage self, yet be fashionably professional at the same time.
For this particular red carpet look, I decided to pair a vintage, fringed red skirt with a long-sleeved black turtleneck that had a surprise “peep” (may not be the correct fashion term but that’s what I call it) in the back. I threw a vintage Sasson New York blazer over it, and topped the entire look off with a vintage, black leather belt adorned with red and gold cows, my black Enzo Angiolini heels and one of my favorite black berets. Add in a little black eyeliner and red lipstick, and voilà, red carpet ready! ;)
