Karen Civil Hosts Gypsy Junkies x Kitson LA

If you weren’t on Robertson Blvd. last Thursday (December 6th), you missed an amazing chance to hang out with some of Hollywood’s trendiest tastemasters and L.A.’s fashion elite at the Kitson LA Women’s store. Blogger and Beats By Dre Ambassador Karen Civil hosted an exclusive pop-up shop sponsored by the bohemian-esque clothing brand, “Gypsy Junkies,” and NCLA Celebrity Manicures.

Lisette Correa, designer of “Luxurious Poverty” – “a fashion forward, fair label collection” that inspires and educates people around the world by donating 5% of its proceeds to worthy causes and charities. Correa’s latest collection was created in collaboration with Alicia Keys for her charity, “Keep A Child Alive.”

Gypsy Junkies, whose upcoming Spring 2013 collection I previewed at MAGIC earlier this year, completely dazzled me with their new collection. Completed with blazers in rich earth-tone colors and dresses in “vampire- Burgundy” (my term, not theirs), the entire collection just screamed my name. After all, I do refer to myself as a gypsy ;)

Overall, the event was full of great energy and fashionable people. I got some great advice from Karen – a woman whose grind and progress I really admire – met some really great people, and listened to tunes spun by DJ Christian Wicks.

Stay tuned for my coverage of Kitson LA and Frankie B Denim’s “Get Festive Event”! It was hosted on the same night and the same street as the Gypsy Junkies pop-up shop, only a few doors down at Frankie B’s other LA store. Releasing later this week!
