[S’ 2013 Lookbook] Savage Life x Mixed Prints

Bonjour Little Lattes! As you know, last week Hazzle and I released the official LLL Spring 2013 Lookbook – which we shot with our amazing photographer friend, Kevin Wade – but we postponed releasing our individual pictures in lieu of showcasing only our group shots. Now some of you may find this strange, but we broke it up this way so that we could explain each of our outfits – and why we choose them – in-depth, as well as give you further insight into our individual inspirations. Now that the wait is finally over, I’m really excited to finally present my individual solo shots. So what are we waiting for? Let’s get to it!

For my first look, I kept it California simple and rocked an Amnimal snapback, a plaid Amnimal button-up (with a black cami underneath) and some frayed jean shorts. As the official Brand Ambassador for Amnimal, it was only fitting that I featured some of their clothing – which I think is amazing – and hook Hazzle up with some as well. Recently, I’ve turned over a new leaf and am starting to incorporate more snapbacks and fitted hats and sneakers into my personal style so it was really fun to style this look. It kind of reminds me of the old-school Boyz-N-the-Hood classic California style in the 90’s – which I think is making a big comeback – but of course wasn’t my only inspiration for wearing it. (I never follow trends). Furthermore, since Amnimal’s motto is “Tomorrow’s future today,” it went right along with the way I see myself and my drive and determination. The work you put in today creates the future you want to live in tomorrow. That’s what we call the “Savage Life” ;)

As for my second look, I decided to mix a floral cropped blazer and black and white high-waisted shorts to create my usual bold and colorful look. The blazer was thrifted (of course) and I believe I got the shorts from Fashion Trend last summer and never wore them. To top it all off, I added a pair of pointy-toe red pumps from Cathy Jean and threw on some Mac Ruby Woo lipstick. After all, lipstick IS an accessory too right? ;)
